Considerations:

• Items like individual books can often be acquired more quickly and made available within 5-7 business days
• Requests for journals or other resources/software that we cannot acquire immediately (e.g. BioRender) are kept on a “wish list” that is regularly reviewed by Bird Librarians
• Factors influencing acquisitions include cost, type of expense (one-time purchase vs. annual subscription), licensing restrictions, and publisher/vendor negotiations
