3D Printing is only available for OUHSC students, faculty and staff.
Only designated library staff will operate the 3D printers.
The library reserves the right to refuse any 3D print request.
We will not print anything that:
Local, state, or federal law prohibits.
Violates OUHSC campus policies.
Infringes on copyright or intellectual property rights.
Is a weapon.
All prints should be picked up within 7 days from the time they are finished printing or they will be given away. *If we are notified by the patron that requests the print, that an item is a prototype for a patent, then the item will be destroyed instead.
How long does a print take? The 3D printer creates a model by applying one layer of material at a time, so the print time is dependent on the amount of modeling and support material required, as well as the intricacy of the model. In general, you should typically allow an approximate 2 week turnaround time for a print.
If designing an object, how should I measure it to figure out the size of the printed object? The CraftBot slicing software recognizes measurements in millimeters, not inches so to ensure a model's sizing, use millimeters when designing. However, we will scale prints down on occasion to better accommodate sizing and filament use.
