Classes & Instruction
Lunch and Learn Courses
The Reference Staff of the Robert M. Bird Health Sciences Library have developed a series of Lunch and Learn classes to highlight library resources available to faculty, students and staff of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. These sessions are announced via a global email to faculty, students, residents, and staff a few days before each course is taught. Space is limited so be sure to register. All courses are taught in a hands on environment. Lunch is not provided, however, attendees are welcome to bring their own lunch.
Individualized Instruction
Reference librarians provide instruction in the use of library services and resources. Course-related lectures to assist students with research papers, orientations to library services, and tours can be arranged at mutually convenient times by contacting the Reference Department:
To ensure availability of teaching staff, equipment, and classroom space, arrangements should be made as soon as course schedules are complete for each academic period. Since point-of-use instruction is most beneficial when there is an immediate application of the skills taught, every effort will be made to schedule classes when students have a specific assignment requiring the use of library resources for completion.
