Outreach Services

The Robert M. Bird Library has compiled a list of resources that provide outreach oriented information. Please find below a list of our top websites accompagnied by a brief description.

CHAIN

  • Designed to serve as a single entry point for Oklahomans needing information about HIV/AIDS, CHAIN is a joint project of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center Bird Library, the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing, the Oklahoma State Department of Health, and the Regional AIDS Interfaith Network (RAIN - Oklahoma).
  • Loansome Doc

  • "Loansome Doc enables PubMed and NLM Gateway users to order documents found in MEDLINE. Loansome Doc allows users to order full-text copies of articles from a medical library (local fees and delivery methods may vary)". - NLM.gov
  • NN/LM SCR

  • "The NN/LM SCR office is one of eight regional offices under contract to the National Library of Medicine. It is located at the Houston Academy of Medicine-Texas Medical Center (HAM-TMC) Library, Houston, TX, and serves the biomedical information needs of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas." - NNLM.gov
  • OHSLA

  • The Oklahoma Health Sciences Library Association is a group of librarians and library managers from hospitals, medical schools, and other health science facilities.
  • Oklahoma Health Connection

  • The Robert M. Bird Health Sciences Library has partnered with vendors and Oklahoma health organizations to provide electronic resources to health care professionals in the state of Oklahoma. Databases that have been licensed by The Oklahoma Health Sciences Library Consortium and the Oklahoma Department of Libraries are being made available. Open-access (free) databases and journals are offered through this interface as well.
